Traditional Handmade Lokta Paper
Lokta paper, also known as Nepali paper, comes from the fibrous inner bark of the Lokta bush (Daphne bhoula or Daphne papyracea), an evergreen shrub found between 1,600 and 4,000 metres on the southern slopes of the Himalayas. The Lokta bush regenerates within 5 to 7 years after harvesting, which is part of why the paper is considered one of the most eco-friendly papers available. Its remarkably strong fibers give it durability, a soft luscious feel, and natural resistance to insects, which is why Lokta paper remains Nepal’s national paper, historically used for legal documents, land registry forms and manuscripts.
Ideal for Crafts and Stationery
The combination of natural fibers and decorative petals makes this A4 Lokta paper suitable for invitations, greeting cards, stationery, scrapbooking, paper crafts and artwork. Printer compatibility can vary depending on your specific printer, paper thickness and feed mechanism, so we recommend testing one sheet before printing a full project.
