About Lokta Paper:

Lokta paper is prepared from the fibrous bark of the Daphne cannabina, known locally as Lokta, which grows at high altitudes in the Himalayas. The bark is boiled and beaten with wooden mallets to produce a pulp, which is then poured into wooden frames and sun-dried. The resulting Lokta paper is strong, attractive, and can be dyed, stenciled, printed, and transformed into a great variety of beautiful paper products.
